1. Privacy & Confidentiality
1.1 Client Confidentiality
Intertreat Bodyworks is committed to the confidentiality of our clients' information. We adhere strictly to the legal and ethical standards set forth in Australian privacy laws.
Personal and health information is collected solely to provide safe and effective care.
Records, including treatment notes, health history, and personal information, are securely stored for a period of two (2) years, after which they are safely destroyed.
Information is disclosed only with your consent or when legally required.
1.2 Privacy and Communications
We respect your privacy and use your contact details solely for appointment-related communications and clinic updates.
You may opt out of email and SMS communications at any time.
Information may be shared internally with your treating practitioners where clinically relevant.
2. Consent & Scope of Practice
2.1 Informed Consent
By confirming a booking, you acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions in full.
I consent to receive massage therapy, dry needling, acupressure, moxibustion (heat therapy), Guasha (scraping massage), percussive therapy, cupping, and services involving exercise guidance. I understand that while these treatments offer therapeutic benefits, they may involve minor risks such as soreness, stiffness, bruising, or blistering. I acknowledge that results may vary, and there is no guaranteed outcome. I understand that these services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. I have disclosed all known medical conditions and will notify my practitioner of any changes to my health.
2.2 Scope and Professional Boundaries
Our practitioners work within their professional registration and adhere to strict codes of practice.
Physical assessments may involve partial undressing and hands-on examination (palpation) where necessary.
All treatment plans are explained in advance, and your consent is always sought prior to proceeding.
3. Appointments & Fees
3.1 Booking & Confirmation
Consultations and treatments typically run for 30 to 90 minutes, as discussed in advance. If you arrive late, your session will continue for the remaining time, and full session fees will apply.
3.2 Annual Fee Review
To maintain quality and manage rising costs, our fees are reviewed annually.
Any increase will reflect the higher of the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the previous 12 months or a fixed rate of 5%.
Clients will be notified in writing at least 14 days prior to the implementation of any new fee schedule.
3.3 Billing & Payment
All payments are due at the time of service.
We accept EFTPOS, credit cards (surcharge applies), cash, and eligible health fund rebates.
Gift certificates are valid for 12 months and are non-refundable.
Dispensed products and completed treatments are non-refundable.
Cheques are not accepted.
3.4 Cancellation Policy
We kindly request a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
24+ hours notice: No charge.
Less than 24 hours: 50% cancellation fee applies.
No-show: 100% of the session fee applies.
Appointment reminders are sent via email (48 hours prior) and SMS (24 hours prior).
3.5 Refunds & Packages
We offer flexible solutions in cases of unforeseen circumstances for client who has purchased package with us.
Medical reasons: Refund or credit may be granted with a supporting medical certificate.
Package cancellations: Must be requested at least 48 hours before the next session. Later cancellations incur a 50% fee.
Package extensions: Written requests may be approved for up to 30 days beyond expiry.
4. Website Use & Intellectual Property
All content on our website and social platforms (text, images, graphics, logos, service descriptions) remains the property of Intertreat Bodyworks.
Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is not permitted without written permission.
Approved organizations may link to our site with proper attribution. No implied endorsement is permitted without written agreement.
To use our content for publication or public use, please contact us in writing for prior approval.
5. Liability & Client Responsibilities
5.1 Limitation of Liability
While every effort is made to provide a safe and professional service, Intertreat Bodyworks and its practitioners shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from, or in connection with, the provision of its services, except where such liability cannot be lawfully excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Clients acknowledge that all therapeutic and bodywork treatments carry inherent risks, and they accept full responsibility for their participation.
5.2 Professional Duty of Care
All practitioners exercise reasonable skill, care, and diligence consistent with professional standards within the industry. However, outcomes may vary between individuals, and no guarantee is made regarding the effectiveness of any treatment or modality.
5.3 Client Disclosure Obligations
Clients are required to provide full and accurate health information prior to and during treatment, including pre-existing conditions, injuries, allergies, or other relevant factors. Failure to disclose such information may void any entitlement to remedies or complaints arising from the service provided.
5.4 Reporting & Review Process
Any concerns regarding treatment must be submitted in writing to clinic management within seven (7) days of the appointment. Supporting medical documentation must accompany any claim of injury or adverse effect. Upon receipt, management may, at its sole discretion, initiate an internal review. Remedies—if any—may include corrective treatment or partial reimbursement, determined solely by Intertreat Bodyworks management.
5.5 Exclusion of Consequential Loss
Intertreat Bodyworks shall not be responsible for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including but not limited to emotional distress, lost income, or other secondary effects allegedly arising from treatment.
6. Promotions & Special Offers
Eligibility: Offers are for existing clients unless stated otherwise and are non-transferable.
Scope: Valid only for specified services; not redeemable for cash or other services.
Expiry: Each offer has a set expiry and must be used before the deadline.
Booking: Must be mentioned at time of booking; subject to availability.
No Combinations: Cannot be used with other discounts, promotions, or gift cards.
Cancellation: Late cancellations or no-shows may result in forfeiting the offer.
Modifications: We reserve the right to change or withdraw offers without notice.
Disputes: Resolved in accordance with Australian consumer law.
